Coyote Attack in my own back yard!
this has been a sad week for us. Last Friday around 7 am I had let my little chihuahua Lola out to go potty, in our fenced back yard.. In the time it took to grab my shoes nex to the coach and tie my shoe, a coyote had her I. It's grip. She had her for only seconds. This was 15 feet from my patio door, on the lawn in my back yard. Thank God I was right there to scare it away! Lola would certainly not had a chance of survival. We has been through a surgery to repaid the internal damage, and is not in recovery. She has a tou road ahead of her but hopefully, she will pull through. Today for the first time since Friday's attack, she ate some food. It was good to see. Small dogs such as this usually don't survive coyote attacks. She was lucky to even have a chance. What concerns me is where is the next victim going to be? What if this week, I had had once of my grand babies at the house, and had left them sit ours idle while I filled up a coffee cup..and perhaps a small child fall victim... Please, don't think that just because you live in a rural neighborhood, a regular housing tract with a standard fence on the perimeter, that your pet is safe. They are not. Please be careful. You do not want to experience what I did with my Lola. I am just glad I was not out of the room or out of earshot..she would. Ist certain have perished right then. Let's hope she pulls through.
