Personal Info:

Gabriele Baber was born in Lendersdorf Germany. She immigrated with her parents to Northern California in 1957 and remained in the Bay area until she married her husband and moved to Washington state. There she gave birth to two boys, Jeff now 24 and Eric now 21. Five years after moving to Washington Gabriele and her family moved to Chino Hills. With one boy in school and one a toddler she began to further study art in college while juggling her teaching and art affiliations with local and regional art groups. She managed to juggle family life and her love of painting, she has nutured since childhood,  all the while perfecting her ever developing painting and drawing skills. Besides her college studies he devoured everything from books, to videos and taking endless workshops so she could  to better her craft. As the children were growing, she was able to have a home studio and teach through the many years of their childhood. Just when she started to have the freedom to expand, she gave birth to another child, Kristen, now 13.

With all three children older and grown, her years of preparation for this time in her life has left her with a very exciting future, during this nearly empty nest time. She has expanded her studio to include both a classroom and a personal studio so that she could continue the teaching that she so loves, and have her own space to continue working on her Temecula Series and other painting projects and commission works. This arrangement has proven to be the ideal situation for Gabriele to be able to balance home life and her life long passion for her art. Recently Gabriele has begun self publishing her art, and hopes to continue doing so with her winery series. Her goal is to have her work in every winery in California, and who knows where from there. Perhaps soon to have her own Gallery/Studio.

Gabriele has recently made a big impression in the art community in Temecula Valley with her recent accomplishments.  Her art is on permanent display at the Temecula Valley Arts Council office, having had her watercolor painting “Vineyard Melodies” was chosen for the 2003 Temecula Valley  “Arts in the Country Festival” poster. Her work can also be seen on permanent display at the Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine festival office, as her acrylic work  “Wine and Balloon 2” has been chosen for the official poster for the 2003 20th annual Wine and Balloon Festival held at Lake Skinner in Temecula.  Her newest accomplishment is to be contracted to do the cover art for a coffee table book on Temecula Valley to be named “Temecula Valley Soars” soon to be available in book stores such as Barns and Noble after February of 2005.  Gabriele’s work can be found in various locations throughout the Temecula Valley, and is in collections around the world.
